In August 2020 in the heart of covid-19 lockdown, the trio were approached by Alnwick Pipers' Society with the idea of making some new trio recordings based on the repertoire of 'The Shepherds', a group of three influential folk musicians from Northumberland, namely Will Taylor, Will Atkinson & Joe Hutton.
Andy, Ian & Sophy proceeded to run with the idea, digging out all kinds of fantastic lesser-known repertoire from old setlists, recordings and LPs provided by friends, relatives and fellow fans of the original Northumbrian Trio.
The resulting repertoire proved inspiring for the band and over three days in October 2020 the album was recorded in Northumberland and it now stands as a fitting tribute to their favourite three musicians.
